Studytrip to Amsterdam

Hello best readers,

Just got back from a little extra studytrip to Amsterdam ! I left on sunday 21 nov and came back just 2 nights after.

We were a little group this time, just 14 people, ann once more I enjoyed the city of Amsterdam very much !!

We visited some great hotels and did some nice tours.

A few hotels I personnaly recommand : Eden hotel Amsterdam, Albus hotel, CitadelVondel Amsterdam.
Those are all perfectly situated to visit the center of the city without taking the public transportations.
Eden & Albus are very trendy decorated and have nice restaurants in the hotel !

Other nice hotels, but far from the centre : Vondel Park Plaza hotel & Memphis hotel, both next to the Vondelpark (it's the central park of Amsterdam !) Those are perfect for people who allready know the centre and want to mingel with the local people and go jogging or biking in the park on a sunny day !!

Want to experience something new ? Try out the House of Bols !! Bols was the inventor of Genever !
You'll get a nice free cocktail and some genever tasting inside ! Nice warm up in the winter, cause it can get really cold !
Also a nice place to visit is the house of Anne Frank. If you like history and true life stories, this is the place to be.

Off course Amsterdam wouldn't be Amsterdam without it's famous Walletjes and Coffeeshops !
Also, nice romantic watercruise dinners through the canals and shopping should be on your programm.

So enjoy Amsterdam the way it should, the city is worth every penny !

Uxmal, Chitchen Itza, Izamal, all wonders to see and live

I know it's been a few days since I've written something...
And what a few days !!!

We saw beautifull things all around the Yucatan area.....

To make it up to you, here are the best off pictures of all the sites we've been to !

First Valladolid (the litte Merida)

Nice little town with a central market and a beautiful cathedral. We slept our first night there.

1. Mayan celebration 2. Cathedral 3. The Plaza 4.Me posing (as usual)

Though it wasn't the first time for me, I enjoyed sharing this moment with Daniel.
It isn't the most extraordenary thing but it shows a lot about the Mayan culture.

1. El Castillo 2. Temple of the warriors 3. Daniel in front of El Castillo 4. Souvenirs (I loved the colours)

The site you have to see if you go to Yucatan !!

1. The main pyramide 2. View from the top 3.On top of the pyramide  4. The 4 elements temples

Than Merida
Though we didn't took a lot of pictures (as we where there at nighttime) Merida is the place to be in Yucatan ! It has nice typical restaurants, good margharita's and an unbelievable spirit !
We stayed there in Casa Chalia with Jan (who's from Belgium by the way !).

1. Cathedral  by night 2. Jan from Casa Chalia 3. Best margharita in town 4. Casa Chalia

Izamal

Nice little yellow village, home of the monastry !

Some pics along the road :

1. A village 2. On the road 3. Market of Oxcutzcab 4. Tacos in local stand

We also went to Tulum

1. Traditional ritual Maya 2. Tulum views 3. Same but with us ! 4. Some nice shadows

And now we our at paradise ..............
or if you prefer, at Iberostar Grand Paraiso !!
Suites, butlers, room service, just to much ! But we'll enjoy it every moment

This little city is a small version of Merida with a nice central market place and colonial & colourfull houses.

We also had our first Margharita !!

Tired and welldone, we're now in our hotel Casa Quetzal to enjoy a very good and long night of sleep....
